April 2, 2010, Newsletter Issue #238: Markets in Cork.

Tip of the Week

If you like browsing round markets like I do then you'll be in heaven in Cork – there are open-air and closed markets galore! The open-air market on Coal Quay (Cornmarket Street) is best visited in the morning when you can browse among the fruit and veg., the clothes, books and bric-a-brac stalls while soaking in the atmosphere and listening to the wonderful lilting Corkonian dialect. The local Cork delicacies of tripe and drisheen can still be found at the markets.
